The event celebrates the you-pick season with organically grown blueberries, cherries and more, along with live music, art, camping and artisans along the Merced River. Saturday Studio: Families and individuals can drop in at the Carnegie Arts Center anytime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. May 24 to get creative. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Memorial Classic: The Shadow Chase Running Club will host the annual Memorial Classic 5K and 1-mile fun run/walk on May 24 at East La Loma Park, 2001 Edgebrook Dr. in Modesto. Race day registration begins at 7 a.m. Both 5K and one Mile courses are scenic, shady loops and walker friendly. Comedy to the Rescue: Former animal cruelty investigator turned comedian Clay Foley tours the country raising funds for local pet charities one laugh at a time. Foley will be at The State Theatre in downtown Modesto for a show at 7 p.m. May 24. For tickets, visit: thestate.org.
